Susquehanna Valley engineers develop thermal management system for NASA

TAKING THEM TO A NEW FRONTIER. IT’S BASICALLY LIKE A LAST LITTLE INSPECTION TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE’S NOT ANYTHING THAT LIKE SHOULDN’T BE THERE WHEN THEY GO TO DO THE FINAL INSTALLATION. JIMMY HUGHES AND THE TEAM OF ENGINEERS AT ADVANCED COOLING TECHNOLOGY ARE PUTTING THE FINISHING TOUCHES ON THEIR LATEST INNOVATION. THAT’S THE THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR THE NASA VIPER ROVER.

"NASA believes there's water on the south pole of the moon, and they are going to launch this up, then go on a mission to find out where that water might be," Bryan Muzyka, with Advanced Cooling Technologies, said. The thermal management system is necessary since the moon's temperatures are extreme. According to NASA, it can reach a blistering 250 degrees during the day, then fall to -200 degrees or below at night. The rover needs to be able to hand it all.

Nearly all of the company's 240 employees had a hand in developing the state-of-the-art technology. They've worked closely with NASA engineers along the way. "It's pretty impressive the technology and the way that they can move heat around. It's just magical to me," Jeff Hagen, with NASA, said."NASA will integrate it onto their rover, and the rover will be going through testing for the better part of another year," Muzyka said. The Best Walmart Halloween Decorations to Get You Set for Spooky Season
