After nine months of negotiations, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is on the brink of becoming a minority shareholder at Manchester United.

In the ensuing decades, Ineos has developed into the fourth-largest chemical company in the world. Philanthropic efforts in recent years include a £100m donation to Oxford University for a new research institute and an increase in hand sanitiser development during the Covid-19 pandemic.
