An anonymous LinkedIn post by a former Amazon employee criticizing the company's culture has sparked widespread discussion and resonated with current employees. The post highlighted concerns about pointless meetings, ineffective management, and a shift away from the innovative environment that once defined Amazon.

Some employees lambasted Amazon’s direction under Mr Andy Jassy, who assumed the chief executive role from co-founder Jeff Bezos in 2021.

Of the more than 200 people who commented on her post, about 20 are currently employed by Amazon in various departments around the world – and many were critical of the company. Another person, Ms Laura Barry, whose LinkedIn profile says she has worked at Amazon for nearly 20 years, wrote that the company today reminded her of a bank. She pointed to the new policy of requiring workers to be in the office five days a week.

Amazon spokeswoman Margaret Callahan declined to address the specific criticisms lobbed by employees.
