The lights shone brightly on Newmains' Christmas tree at this year’s festive switch-on thanks to the help of Bellway Homes West Division’s construction team.
This year the community council purchased a living tree to avoid the spiralling costs and as a trial for future years. Newmains councillor Robert John McKendrick said: “Every year a tree was purchased from North Lanarkshire Council and was then discarded.
