One person died Thursday morning and another was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting near the Alemany Farmers Market, according to San Francisco firefighters and police. The fire department said they received a call about a 'traumatic injury' at 8:12 a.m.at Bronte Street and Tompkins Avenue. Police said they were investigating a shooting, but did not immediately say more.
Video at the scene showed a large presence of officers on a residential street with yellow crime-scene tape marking off a particular house.The actual incident occurred one street behind the farmer's market. This death follows on the heels of the first homicide of 2025 in San Francisco, which occurred about 12:30 a.m Wednesday on South Van Ness Boulevard where a gas station is located. A man was found shot to death, police said.Police later arrested a suspect in that case, 29-year-old Jose Rivera Flores, who had sped off in a SUV.Police took him into custody at the San Francisco County Jail
