Australia's broader tourism industry has been left wanting as the federal government's 'selective' $1.2 billion support announcement focused on the nation's airlines, according to Labor Senator Don Farrell.

Australia's broader tourism industry has been left wanting as the federal government's "selective" $1.2 billion support announcement focused on the nation's airlines, according to Labor Senator Don Farrell. “This is too little, too late,” he said.

” Mr Farrell argued the economic support for small business, the tourism industry and workers should have been kept in place until there was an indication things would return to normal. “The federal government has a special responsibility in this area … the decisions to close the Australian borders were decisions made by the Australian government, they weren’t made by state governments,” he told Sky News.

Tell the state premiers that nothing to do with fed government it was those state premiers who shuts borders . . . They should fix their own mess now can’t have the cake and eat it too

It was difficult for the federal government to act because of the uncertainty of state borders. We need to keep state borders opened.

Take nothing then, give to small transport businesses still struggling!

Taxes being wasted, the worse thing is the ALP want to spend more. 🤑 The aviation & tourism industries are all but finished. Leaders will continually be closing borders going into lockdowns. It's near impossible to plan a hoilday overseas and even interstate. Redundancy time👎
