It is said that the issue is in relation to an ongoing legal dispute over the local traditional leadership in the area. KZN education department spokesperson Kwazi Mthethwa says, “As we tried to prepare for the schools reopening for the 2022 academic year, there are certain members of the uMkhambathini community who have been threatening school principals not to open schools.”
