:Australia's Macquarie Group said on Tuesday a strong performance in its markets-facing businesses helped drive a record third quarter, with the financial conglomerate flagging a significant rise in commodities income this year.

Macquarie said its commodities business benefited from more hedging and trading activity due to ongoing volatility in markets that had also helped the Sydney-based firm report a record first-half profit.
