The South African pavilion showcases the country’s technological innovations, tourism, sport and culture among other things. The president has been on a drive to increase investment in South Africa.
Many economists say structural reform, investment and strong economic growth are necessary to solve South Africa’s massive poverty and unemployment problems. Last week President Ramaphosa emphasised the importance of producing and buying locally to boost the country’s economy at a time when it has been brought to its knees by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ramaphosa delivered a virtual address at the 10th annual Buy Local Summit and Exco last week Tuesday in Sandton, Johannesburg.
