Their tax-free status is maintained to allow more political funding. Allows groups like Asahara's sarin fanatics to develop. Real justice in Japan has a long arduous road to travel.

...and thank you for your accurate description of 'faith' as an industry, because that's exactly what it is. Afterlife 'faith' = the biggest fraud there ever was or ever will be. It takes advantage of ppl's fear of death and missing dead relatives.
