It’s one of those vehicles that puts a smile on my face, top up or down. And, despite the fact that we’re still waiting for the next generation, Miata still seems up to date. You might expect the hardtop to eat into key stats, but impact is minimal. RFs use more sound-deadening material, but I don’t seem much difference, and it’s a roadster so road noise is part of the experience. And, you have to love that vroom, vroom. RFs gain a bit of weight but shave only 0.6 inches in headroom and 0.11 cubic feet of trunk space.
Another change for 2022 is that only Grand Touring models offer an automatic transmission option to the 6-speed manual.
