How the cost of living is impacting Christmas market stall holders

Christmas market stall holders fear their profit margins will be badly hit this year as their goods are costing far more to produce.After surviving Covid, traders are now faced with a rise in their costs because of the cost of living crisis.Emily Becketts, owner of Boozie Brownie Co, based in Herefordshire, has a stall at Cardiff Christmas market for the second time.

She also recently bought a converted horse trailer to travel to music festivals to create more business."The industrial oven I use costs me £12 in electric a day and I had a warning in my last bill that my electricity usage had doubled since last year," she said. Yes and they pay 70£ fir a take a way

The Christmas Market is not an essential - it's a luxury. I'm sorry but people are more focused on just making ends meet in trying to survive. They couldn't give a rats arse about overpriced trinkets etc being sold by middle-class entrepreneurs.

From my experience at the Manchester markets things are way overpriced. We have stopped going.
