In the Budget 2023 announcement, several new cash boosts and tax changes were confirmed.
For people involved in the Community Employment , Tús or Rural Social Scheme, they will see their top up payment increase by €5 from €22.50 to €27.50. The standard rate tax band, which is the amount you can earn before you start to pay the higher rate of tax, will be increased by €3,200. This is in line with the 80 cent per hour increase in the national minimum wage that will occur on 1 January 2023.
