Tampa Bay Rays still considering building a stadium in Tampa - Jacksonville Business Journal

To longtime observers of the team's stadium search, the renderings may appear to be another attempt at gaining leverage in potential negotiations. Castor confirmed through a spokesperson that the Rays are targeting a property north of the Ybor Channel. Shaw declined to comment on Hagan's assertion that he is negotiating with the team. Hagan says the Ybor Channel property, which Shaw will buy in phases over the next one to five years, is the team's No. 1 target, though the team is"kicking the tires" on other sites in Ybor.
