Fire at Springdale Business Forces Evacuation of Nearby Seniors Home

Firefighters battled through the night to knock down a major industrial fire at Yates Boat Yard in Springdale last night.

The fire, in a busy industrial and commercial area of town, forced the evacuation of a nearby senior’s home. Both RCMP and the Springdale Fire Department were asking residents to stay away from Corporal Bouzane Boulevard and Little Bay Road last night as firefighters concentrated on containing the massive blaze.VOCM News will have more information as it becomes available.

Glad no lives were lost or anyone hurt.

My momma ❤️ was one of those seniors, so glad she had family in the area that took her for the night. Hopefully, she will be back to her home today. Thanks to all FirstResponders for the quick work getting the fire out and protecting the seniors 🙌
