A number of law firms representing several stakeholders are demanding that the supply of electricity be stabilised, sayingThey have written a letter outlining their demands to Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter and Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan. Those represented include the United Democratic Movement leader Bantu Holomisa, the founder of Build One South Africa Mmusi Maimane, the Inkatha Freedom Party and National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa .

One of the representing attorneys, Siphile Buthelezi, says as an organ of the state, Eskom is in breach of its constitutional obligations. “We have been approached from all nine provinces. The clients have demanded that the transparency and accountability from the state, setting out a clear plan as to how it’s going to stop load shedding. The state has not been forthcoming as to the steps that it is taking to ensure that load shedding stops. What is it that will be done in future to ensure that no load shedding takes place and that they don’t lose businesses.

In the West Rand, the whole of Ward 2(Finsbury, Kocksoord, Peace Haven, Ten Acres as well as Hillside) hasn't had power since the 6th of January. Nothing had been done to deal with the matter it is honestly sad and agrevating.

Who will the legal firms ? Or they are doing it for free. Because Eskom will cite its reasons for failure to generate enough power and we know 1. State capture 2. Non payment of bills Im also frastrated by the current situation but lets find/ think of new ways to fight this.

The constitutional duty Eskom has is limited to the disconnection of electricity supply to municipalities (organ of state) who fail to honour their debt payment plans with eskom, not to blackouts affecting the whole country. My opinion.

NERSA 👿👿👿

Let’s also not forget those who owe Eskom in our discussions and litigations

🔴'Shut Down Richards Bay Port,'🔴 Mining activists have called for the shutdown of the Richards Bay habour in KwaZulu-Natal due to the everyday transportation of South Africa’s coal to Europe. The group of activists say, 'we can't have loadshedding yet our coal serves Europe.'

NERSA too NEEDS investigating!!!!
