Exclusive: Graham Stuart received £12,000 towards campaign from fuel distributor and aviation consultant

The UK climate minister – who recently stated not all fossil fuels were the “spawn of the devil” – received campaign donations from one of the largest fuel distributors in the UK as well as an aviation consultant and recruiter, it has emerged.

Now it has emerged that, in 2019, Stuart received a £10,000 donation towards his re-election campaign from JR Rix & Sons, a Hull-based business primarily involved in the distribution and sale of fuel, including heating oil, diesel and petrol. In addition, Stuart received a £2,000 donation from Bostonair, a Hull-based aviation consultant. Bostonair said 95% of its sales are in overseas markets so UK climate policy would not likely affect its business.

In the same meeting, he said he had “time for climate change sceptics” and does not believe that they should be “pushed out of the conversation”.

‘Longer term’ confusion on gas price caps as market prematurely stabilisesThere is a lot of confusion amongst energy producers about how the government’s price cap response is going to work “in the longer term,” according to The Australian's Environmental Editor Graham Lloyd. “The market seems to be stabilising,” Mr Lloyd told Sky News host Cory Bernardi. “If you look at prices in Europe, where they were very, very high because of the interruption from supplies from Russia, that shortfall has been taken up largely by the United States. “So gas prices in Europe are about 25 per cent of what they were at the peak and half the price they were in December.” He said with the government’s further discussions on price caps to still continue, “the gas producers may just say 'well, look, we'll put our money somewhere else”. The only confusion is 'how can they rip us off' when the Government is now calling the shots. i don't care what their confusion is just make power affordable. all this bullshit talk of clean cheap energy.... so where is it?
