A 172-unit multi-family workforce housing complex in San Marco received the go-ahead from the city to commence construction. The 185,204-square-foot development, Lofts at San Marco East is located 3036 Philips Highway. The four-story building is being developed by the Vestor Companies. Summit Contracting Group received a $25 million permit on behalf of Lofts at San Marco East, Ltd. on Feb. 2, records show. LaVilla LLC, registered under Vestcor, bought the land for $1.65 million in March 2022. The property is near Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and Alexandria Oaks Park.

Two permits to construct a trash enclosure and pavilion at the property were also approved by the city Thursday.
