First major US railroad merger in decades will go forward

Norfolk Southern CEO Alan Shaw told senators Thursday he is"deeply sorry" for the East Palestine, Ohio, train derailment, and promised financial aid to the residents there.in more than two decades, federal regulators approved Canadian Pacific’s $31 billion acquisition of Kansas City Southern.
