“I was a single mum with two almost grown-up kids and I needed something to fill my life with.”

A Co Armagh mum is now helping others on their journey to business success, just three years after setting up her own company and establishing herself as a specialist soap crafter.

She added: “As a beauty therapist and hairdresser, I have seen first-hand the problems people have when trying to find suitable skincare and haircare. “This resulted in the development of cold processed soap. I could use the finest butters and oils which were full of moisturising properties as well as add soothing and natural ingredients such as colloidal oatmeal or cleansing clays.

“To this end, I always wanted to incorporate this into the business so we are waste-free. Everything that either comes to us or is made by us is used and I ensure that my packaging is compostable/biodegradable/free from plastic.” But that's not the end of Christine's success story as she's now also helping to support other small businesses in the area through a pop up shop, based in Portadown.

"Unfortunately her business didn’t survive and she decided to shut up shop leaving me with a decision to either take the whole space on or leave with her. "We are also expanding a little more this coming autumn with a new beauty salon, Beauty by Bathe Botanicals, opening in September at the Church Street shop."
