Baekhyun, a member of the K-pop group EXO, recently stated that SM Entertainment was aware of his plans to start his own company. However, SM Entertainment has denied this claim and stated that they were not aware of Baekhyun's new venture.

dispute with SM Entertainment regarding his exclusive contract, Baekhyun shared that he was starting his own company with his friend Kasper.

However, on August 9, SM Entertainment released an official statement claiming that they were not, in fact, aware of Baekhyun’s new company—and that they had found out about it through the news the previous day. Their existing contract [with SM] has not expired. In Baekhyun’s case, his contract runs until January of next year.Their new contract is also valid. As was previously reported, part of the contract was amended through mutual agreement.As we previously announced, we came to an agreement in order to preserve the group EXO and all of its members, and above all else, for the sake of the fans.
