Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. expressed confidence that the domestic industry can sell a million units in just a decade or in five to six years, at the earliest, as the country is becoming one of the most important markets in the ASEAN region.
Hara said that total industry volume is expected to hit 420,000 to 430,000 before surpassing 500,000 units. “Maybe within the decade, maybe within five or six it may reach one million units,” he said. Jack S. Ramirez, Jr., MMPC first vice-president for sales and marketing, said this during a press conference for MMPC’s 60th Anniversary on Thursday, Aug. 10, which highlighted the company’s 1.2 million sales volume and 800,000th production milestones in the country.
