World-renowned conservationist Jane Goodall reminded hundreds of scientists present at the 12th Oppenheimer Research Conference in Midrand that if the world carries on with a business-as-usual approach to conservation, the planet is doomed. “Forests, wetlands, peatlands grasslands, all of which store carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, are being destroyed, and habitats lost or fragmented,” Goodall told the conference covered by Mining Weekly.
