The Better Business Bureau has a warning about using auto-dialing on your smart device.You probably have a lot of smart devices to make your life easier – whether it's to play your favorite song, ask for a weather report or change the thermostat.But the Better Business Bureau urges you not to ask your smart device to look up a phone number since it could accidentally point you to a scam.For example, you ask your smart device to call a company.

The scammers hope when you do a voice search, the algorithm will accidentally pick their scam number, and an unsuspecting victim will contact them directly.Protect yourselfThe Better Business Bureau has these suggestions to avoid being scammed:Be careful when searching for support phone numbers. Instead of doing an online search or letting your smart device look up a number, use the contact information on the business's website, on your bill, on a receipt or in your confirmation email.
