Former Finance and Administration Manager Sentenced for Theft

Former Finance and Administration Manager ofThe Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court sentenced the 56-year-old on Friday, 5 April.According to the National Prosecuting Authority , Lizette Steyn faced 85 counts of theft.

NPA spokesperson in Gauteng Lumka Mahanjana said during her employment, Steyn would change the details of one of the AgriCAD ABSA bank accounts and replace it with her six different personal Capitec accounts. In August 2023, Hildegard Steenkamp was found guilty of stealing R537 million from her former employer Medtronic for over 13 years. “However, the prosecutor, advocate Rachelle van der Walt, argued that as much as the 56-year-old was a first-time offender, her offences were committed over three years.
