[NEW YORK] Wall Street stocks finished mixed on Monday in a cautious start to week that includes major economic data and the start of first-quarter earnings season.The broad-based S&P 500 edged up 0.1 per cent to 2,895.77, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index gained 0.2 per cent to 7,953.88.
"It is widely accepted that earnings will be soft for the first quarter, but investors are betting that the forward-looking statements will be good."
