Former Everton midfielder Tom Davies has launched a new business venture that aims to turn chopsticks into sustainable furniture.
“We are paving the way for a greener future, where not only waste streams are transformed into valuable products made to last, but we can also source, produce, and distribute locally in our communities,” said Davies. In the next year, ChopValue UK is projected to convert 25 million chopsticks into premium climate positive products, saving up to 1,200 tonnes of CO2 emissions from being released into the atmosphere.
Since its founding in 2016, ChopValue’s urban harvesting approach claims to have diverted over 150 million chopsticks from the landfill.
