A company has been issued a severe warning after it ‘put lives at risk’ by letting tenants live in an unlicensed 10-bed house on London Road.officials found five people were still living in the building despite Camden Properties failing to lodge a renewal application for a house in multiple occupation licence in time.
HMO licences are needed when a landlord allows their property to be occupied by three or more people who are not related.The licence process includes inspections by council officials and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. A representative for the company, who said they have had “sleepless nights” over the error, apologised for their “mistake”.
