Google cuts direct business with Huawei

Google has suspended business with Huawei that requires the transfer of hardware, software and technical services, except those publicly available via open source licensing, a source has told Reuters.

The next version of its Android smartphones will also lose access to popular services including the Google Play Store and Gmail and YouTube apps. Dieter Bohn, editor of technology website The Verge, tweeted that he had confirmed Google had cut direct business activity with the company, but said the immediate implications for Huawei users were not clear.
