There are over 880 000 full time and part time candidates who will sit for the 2024 matric exams.

Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube is pictured during a National Senior Certificate Pledge Signing Ceremony in Pretoria on 18 October 2024.There are over 880 000 full time and part time matric candidates who will sit for the examinations from Monday until the end of November.Experts have advised learners not to panic, but to remain calm and stay positive.

Education Analyst, Takalani Mashau, says: “Be positive and remind yourself the importance of getting the job done. Take a walk outside – you will be surprised at how much information you can accumulate after being outside for a while. Break your learning sections into manageable parts – trying to learn too much at the same time will only result in a tired mind. Try to study using pictures and colours – it will help you remember what you have learnt.
