The Department of Social Development has been requested to conduct an investigation into weaknesses that lead to fraud and corruption in the social grant system.
The two first-year Computer Science students did the study after they both discovered that they are already signed up for the grants even though they did not apply. The two students were invited by the committee to explain their findings following media reports of their study.
