Musk, the world's wealthiest person, was a prominent supporter of Trump's presidential campaign and is expected to wield extraordinary influence to help his companies and secure favourable government treatment. The spaceship is part of NASA's Artemis program, which aims to put humans on the moon for the first time in more than a half-century and use it as a proving ground for later Mars missions.
