A Toronto company, Cooks Who Feed, has teamed up with Vancouver chef Vikram Vij to design and launch a new apron. The aprons, made of red cotton and featuring the words 'eat with your hands,' are being sold with proceeds going towards tackling food insecurity in Canada and supporting marginalized women in India. Each apron sold provides 100 meals to those in need. The aprons are handmade by marginalized women in India, providing them with financial support.
Vij, known for his advocacy and community involvement, expressed his hope that the aprons will inspire supporters to contribute to the fight against food insecurity. He highlighted the impact of the initiative, stating that food banks are serving more than 330,000 people a month, compared to 60,000 pre-pandemic
