Business Interference with Australia Day Celebrations Raises Frustration

Warren Mundine, from the Centre for Independent Studies, has expressed increasing frustration over businesses interfering with Australia Day celebrations. Australian Venue Co, a hospitality company, plans to forgo Australia Day celebrations next year at over 200 pubs nationwide. The company's spokesman stated that they recognize the positives about Australia on a continuous basis, but noted that the national day has been a subject of contention among staff and customers.

Mundine criticized the company's decision, suggesting that the spirit of Australia Day should be celebrated every day and questioning why the day is being singled out for exclusion
