As principal of the investment company she runs with her husband and Atlassian co-founder Scott Farquhar, Kim Jackson is often the only woman in the room.

Ms Jackson said there is still a need for awards specifically targeted at business women.

Ms Jackson trained as an engineer and began her career as an investment banker at Citigroup and then at Hastings Funds Management. Husband and wife and Skip Capital co-founders Scott Farquhar and Kim Jackson at the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year awards. Ms Jackson said male founders are also seeing the benefit of having a woman led investment company backing their business.

Her focus is on finding more "great founders with big ideas" and helping Skip Capital's portfolio companies achieve their goals.
