The once crystal-clear waters of Lasir Waterfall is now full of mud allegedly due to logging activities, the Malaysian Nature Society has claimed.
He also said local tour operators have reported a loss of income due to the damage caused to the local ecotourism sites. “While the Terengganu government has taken immediate action and suspended logging activities in the area to ensure the operators comply with regulations, this was not enough,” he said in a statement yesterday.
