“Particularly in Sarawak, construction projects often involve issues surrounding native customary rights and adverse soil conditions, which are distinct from the rest of the country,” she said in her keynote address at the Asian International Arbitration Centre’s Standard Form of Building Contracts and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sarawak Roadshow held here.

Hasidah said the construction sector in Sarawak, driven by higher spending by the state government on infrastructure projects, is expected to grow strongly at 16.8 per cent in 2019.
