Traffic volumes picking up as holidaymakers head home from KZN

are picking up as holidaymakers make their way home after the festive season.

Provincial traffic authority spokesperson, Zinhle Mngomezulu-Mali says heavy traffic is being experienced on the N3 from Durban heading towards Johannesburg. She says at 12pm, 1790 vehicles per hour were counted at Mariannhill Toll Plaza outside Durban, and 1640 at the Tugela Toll Plaza in the Midlands.

“I can say from 10am today traffic volumes were extremely high. That is the traffic proceeding towards Johannesburg.” “As much we do experience high volumes of traffic, our officers are out and about trying to ensure the maximum safety of motorists.”
