As Sarah Burton Leaves Alexander McQueen, so does any diversity among the heads of Kering’s many fashion houses.

Days after the longtime Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton showed her last collection at Paris Fashion Week, the fashion house announced Irish designer Seán McGirr as her successor, with some industry professionals noting all creative directors under fashion conglomerate Kering are now all white men.Kering is the parent company to legacy brands McQueen, Balenciaga, Brioni, Gucci, Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta, none of which are led by women or people of color.

Gucci earlier this year appointed Italian designer Sabato De Sarno as creative director in place of longtime head Alessandro Michele, also an Italian man; American Demna Gvasalia has been the head at Balenciaga since 2015; Austrian Norbert Stumpfl leads Brioni; Anthony Vaccarello, a Belgian-Italian man, is the creative director of Saint Laurent; and French designer Matthieu Blazy is the top designer at Bottega Veneta.
