U.S. stock indexes opened lower on Monday after the key 10-year Treasury yield crossed 5% for the first time in 16 years amid renewed concerns that interest rates will remain higher for longer. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.51% dropped 172 points, or 0.5%, at 32,956, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.56% was off 0.4% and the Nasdaq Composite COMP, -0.67% fell 0.5%.
