Gangland killer Brian Rattigan is taking control of a major Dublin drugs market — at the expense of the Byrne Organised Crime Group, gardaí believe.
Gang boss Liam Byrne used to run a massive drugs gang for himself and the cartel led by Daniel Kinahan , but he is locked up in England and is due to stand trial on serious charges there – a move which has seriously weakened his outfit in his native Crumlin and south Dublin. He is also accused along with Mr Kavanagh and Mr Kent of conspiring with Mr Kavanagh’s son Jack, Peter Keating and others to possess firearms and ammunition between the January 9, 2020, and June 3, 2021.
But gardaí believe he is running his major crime gang from a distance and is now one of the top operators in the city.
