The US Department of Labor is suing a York County business after allegedly firing an employee who refused to engage in unsafe business practices.
While working in a warehouse, he was required to unload delivered items and organize the aisles where the items were stored, according to the lawsuit. In January of 2019, the man was preparing to stock items when he realized that if he used the ladder, he would not be able to maintain 3 points of contact — a safety requirement when using a ladder. His supervisor is accused of reporting him to HR after saying that the task could “easily” be completed with a ladder.
