Motorcycle sales, particularly in the United States, have been struggling ever since the Great Recession. As older riders lose interest, or simply become unable to ride any longer, the younger generation hasn't been showing the same kind of enthusiasm.
But the industry is hoping that electric motorcycles -- with a quieter, simpler experience -- might be the key to attracting new riders.For one thing, electric motorcycles are easier to ride. With an electric motor, there's no need to shift gears. To experienced riders, that's no big deal, but most Americans today have become accustomed to automatic transmissions and don't know how to shift gears.
I got rid of mine a couple of years ago. It just dawned on me...these things are dangerous. No sense jeopardizing my safety for a little wind in my face. 🤷🏼♂️

Motorcycles sales are dropping because of teens on cell phones, not the great recession....ask any motorcycle rider what they are most afraid of on the road.
When I was younger I tried to impress some girls by doing dirt bike jumps and ended up almost dead and with a cool ass scar.. Chicks dig scars
Not sure what the decline in motorcycle sales has to do with the 2007-2009 recession. Hard to honestly call it a Great Recession although post war recessions have all been pretty mild.😎
