National Farmers Federation CEO Tony Maher has spoken with Sky News of the potential impacts Labor's policy of a net-zero carbon emissions target by 2050 could have on the industry and communities. Mr Maher told Sky News host Peter Gleeson the NFF's climate policy "doesn't include a target towards carbon neutrality by 2050". "We have in our roadmap ...

an aspiration for the industry to be trending towards carbon neutrality by 2030". "Each sector looks at the technologies, the techniques, the practices and the research that’s required to make sure that we can continue to produce fibre in rural and regional Australia," he said. Mr Maher said the industry is always looking at "areas where we can reduce our emissions, so that’s our stepping-stone to getting towards trending towards carbon neutrality".
