Some major companies in the fledgling industry lose up to 80 per cent of their stockmarket value in the past year.

Mr Crock said the company had decided to slow the build of its major growing facility in north-west Victoria.

"That allows us to better match the capital requirements with demand that we see coming out the other side of this."
