Police are searching for a man who was caught on CCTV using a fishing rod to steal a necklace from a high end boutique through a small hole.

The man spent nearly three hours manoeuvring the rod around before he managed to fish the necklace out through a small hole in the window. A spokesman for Victoria Police told news.com.au the man stuck the rod through a small hole he’d made in the door, but they weren’t sure of how he’d created that hole.

The man spent three hours using a fishing rod to hook a necklace from the Versace store. Picture: Victoria PoliceSource:SuppliedCCTV footage of the alleged offence shows the man sticking the rod into the business, before pulling it back out and walking away. He worked to remove the necklace over many hours and left intermittently when disturbed by passing traffic.
