According to the health measures from the Global Health Security Index report, both countries suffer from poor communication with healthcare workers during a public health emergency and poor infection control practices and availability of equipment.
However, scores for two of the sub-indicators were above the global average. The country had an immunization score of 96.5, 11.5 points higher than the global average. In addition, the country scored a zero in some of the sub-indicators of the rapid response category: emergency preparedness and response planning, exercising response plans, and emergency response operation. Surprising is that Venezuela didn’t scored at the very bottom of least prepared because it is well know that Health Systems collapsed since 2017. Several Hospitals don’t have even water & soap. Kits for testing Covid 19 aren’t available at Hospitals & Clinics. Total chaos !
