Spotify, Amazon, Warner Music Group, and other major music companies are donating to coronavirus relief — but how do the acts stack up against meaningful measures elsewhere in the industry?

This week, the largest corporations in music — from streaming platforms like Spotify and Tidal to major labels like Warner Music Group and Universal to tech behemoths like Facebook — finally announced corporate initiatives aimed to help support artists and creators in the coming months. Spotify, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, SiriusXM/Pandora, and others announced a joint donation to the MusiCares

Small companies are the ones doing the most. Large conglomerates, as usual, are doing the least. So disappointing!

Maybe the artists will start charging for their at-home concerts. Or start selling tickets to their tours themselves or sell their own songs that can be imported into your favorite streaming service. Too bad the industry is filled w f:”*ed up people.

Yes

Shouldn't we all? 🤝
