In a statement on Tuesday , Piam said although some insurance companies had temporarily closed operations of their branch offices or shortened the operating hours during the movement control order , Piam member companies remain committed to providing services for their customers in a safe manner.
"This is part of the industry’s effort to help affected rakyat cope with the immediate health effects of the virus and the subsequent economic consequences, as well as to enable more Malaysians to undergo tests to help contain the virus outbreak. It encouraged policyholders to contact their respective insurers for details on the support measures.
