A Brooklyn, New York, penthouse just sold for $20 million, shattering the record for the most expensive home ever sold in the borough, Douglas Elliman confirmed to Business Insider.
Located in Quay Tower, a waterfront luxury building in the affluent Brooklyn Heights neighborhood, the penthouse is actually two units combined into a single residence with five bedrooms and 7,433 square feet of living space and a 1,179-square-foot private terrace, according to Douglas Elliman. As Andrew Anderson of Douglas Elliman, who handled the sale, told Business Insider in 2018, "No other property in Brooklyn or New York City has this combination of ultra-high-end interiors and amenities paired with absolutely mesmerizing views of New York Harbor, the Downtown skyline and East River all the way beyond the Empire State Building."
